Towards CSRD compliant sustainability report

Daiwa House Modular Europe

Background

Daiwa House Modular Europe reported on ESG (environment, social, governance) topics in the past but wanted to step up in ESG reporting and start to bring it in line with the upcoming requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) as more and more stakeholders require transparent information of non-financial data. The European Commission adopted a legislative proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) that requires companies within its scope to report on the basis of a “double materiality” perspective in compliance with European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

Request & approach

The starting point for the report was to start with a double materiality assessment for Daiwa House Modular Europe which is the basis for the ESG report. We also established a gap analysis of the current information available with the company and mapped it against the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) We went through the following steps with Daiwa House Modular Europe:

  • Workshop to identify the reporting ambition
  • Double Materiality Assessment including stakeholder consultation
  • Content plan and creation for the ESG report
  • Implementation of the report including a value creation model and visualization

Result

TOSCA guided Daiwa House Modular Europe through the process and published the ESG report which you can find here or click on below image. We are further working together with Daiwa House Modular Europe to be CSRD compliant as much as possible. For the visualization of the report, we worked with our partner CF Reporting.
