Sustainability certifications such as B Corp are increasingly aligned to European legislation. The updated standards require a minimum level on seven new pillars – excelling on one theme no longer compensates for weaker scores. These requirements fit in well with the European VSME framework: a reporting format for companies that voluntarily provide insight into their sustainability. Both frameworks bring their own advantages:
