Why choose a reporting framework?

While robust sustainability policies and actions are essential, stakeholders—from investors to employees—need clear, comparable, and reliable metrics updated year after year. Client context
Trivium Packaging B.V. is a global leader in high-quality, infinitely recyclable metal packaging. Headquartered in Schiphol, Netherlands, the company produces steel and rigid aluminum packaging for beauty, food, beverage, home care, industrial, and pharmaceutical markets.

Trivium had already demonstrated strong sustainability credentials reflected in its Gold EcoVadis rating. One remaining opportunity: The team wanted to report in accordance with GRI. This move would improve their EcoVadis score, professionalize reporting and sharpen credibility, and pave the way toward CSRD readiness.

The challenge
Trivium needed its 2025 report aligned with GRI Universal and Topic Standards, complete with a comprehensive GRI Content Index. Using the company’s initial draft as a baseline, TOSCA conducted a gap analysis against full GRI compliance requirements.

Our approach
We identified reporting gaps and collaborated closely with Trivium to resolve them on a tight, fixed deadline. We maintained a live, shared gap tracker, allowing the client to review and update at their own pace, between weekly or biweekly sessions. Finally, we built a complete, transparent GRI content index, a vital component for demonstrating transparency and full disclosure. 

Our structured process kept the project on track without unnecessary meeting overhead.

The outcome
Trivium successfully published its 2025 Sustainability Report in full accordance with GRI Standards, offering a transparent and credible account of its sustainability performance for customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders. This report also facilitates Trivium's next step towards CSRD compliance.
